About
I started photography in 2006. I looked outside and saw an amazing sunset, so I grabbed my Dad's compact, pointed and shot. The shot that came out was a well framed image that I really liked. I enjoyed the process and the end photograph so much that I was inspired to take more photos, mainly of landscape/sunset scenes.
When I got my hands on a Digital SLR, I never looked back. I learned how to control the camera and over the few years I've been using it I know it back to front! I can tell from what I see if the image is going to turn out well, and from my time using a 35mm SLR for my A Level Photography course I dont always take the shot! At Hills Road Sixth Form College, Cambridge I learned from two very skilled and experienced photographers how to turn what I was doing as a hobby into an art, and how photography can be more than just a point/shoot/image process. There was a world of photographers and amazing images that captured my imagination and have influenced my work ever since. I gained a very good A grade in A Level photography in 2009. After a year learning how to shoot, process and delevlop film prints my digital photography improved, and now I try to only use techniques that one had to hand in a chemical darkroom. I believe that my images look better this way. However, if I find a process that makes the image look amazing, and it couldnt be done in a darkroom, I will stil use it! I may not be a full time photographer with the best kit, but I put lots of effort into projects and work that I do and come out with at least a few stunning images. ![]() |
